Here at Derlen Bakery we have developed just this pie.

You see we wanted a pie to tell a story. We wanted it to be good for you-
No! we wanted it to be great!!

The pastry used in baking this "Premium Select" pie is the result of our pastry team rolling, baking, testing and learning how to make great puff pastry over the past 25 years.

We listened to your concerns regarding the fat content of pies so we went out and found a pastry margarine that has a trans fat content of less than 1%!

We reduced the margarine in our premium select pastry by 25% and discovered a margarine with less than 1% trans fat!

Then we searched New Zealand for beef that was low in fat & high in protein and found in right here in our own backyard.

Come in and visit our bakery at 158 Walnut Avenue Ashburton right by the round-about and Ashburton Toyota, to see the pies being made. We have one of the few large production bakeries in New Zealand where the customer can view the whole baking process from our retail shop.
